Our local paper published a big report yesterday that a medieval very poplier pub in the New Forest has been targeted by PETA (Animal Rights Group) to get it to change the name from The Fighting Cocks to The Clever Cocks because chickens have character and personality.

Sadly PETA can mobilise a huge army of disaffected and angry supporters and all too often they get their way by intimidation and pressure.
Were they the group behind the 'liberation' of mink into our countryside that has caused a lot of damage to fowl and fish?
