What do you do to make sure you don't bang your head? Have banged my head twice on the dor frame going out of the troll and boy did it hurt. It's not an issue for my wife but I've a feeling that I'll do it again
Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Try going out backwards... your foot should be on the step before your head reaches the top of the door.

Been there many times and we all do it even now in my case. There is a book roaming around titled "Gentle Kiss on the head, I believe, worth a read.

The theory being if your foot is on the step before your head reaches the door you will be lower and that means you miss the door frame.

You're getting mixed up with Fifty Shades of Grey, Derek.

That definitely isn't worth a read. I've done it seven times cover to cover and couldn't find anything even remotely of interest.

I thought 50 shades of Grey was a Dulux paint chart

To avoid hitting your head inside at the back this works.

If it helps to understand why the door is so small, Erwin Hymer who designed the Eriba was a small chap of about 5'4". With knowing that little bit of info didn't help me. I'm not as tall as Erwin and when I had the Puck I would find myself sat in the cupboard in a confused state after trying to get out of the door....
As Nev says going out backwards helps. With the Familia we have a fly screen which we can put a piece of pipe insulation on which makes for a gentle bump rather than a neck snapping whack. It's very rare I bump my head on the door these days as my Eriba was made in 2012 , all post 2009 models have a slimmer roof line which enabled Hymer to make a slightly larger door...

Thanks all I'll try the pipe insulation and hopefully there is more advice in the blog.
