Lacquer peeling from front box and wheel arches

Hello, we have an Eriba Pan and the lacquer is peeling off the front gas bottle box and also from the wheel arches. Does anyone know how this can be repaired? is it a case of removing all the lacquer (if so, how?) and re-spraying it (if so with what?) or is there an easier fix?
Thanks
