Adding hot water to water?

Hi we have recently upgraded from a 1981 pan duo to a 2005 troll which we love. My question is this we don't have hot water and haven't the time to think about fitting it at present. We had a shower head tap fitted in our bathroom which is suitable for a hot supply. Would we ok to add hot water to the water container I'm taking her to a festival with no shower block and need to wash not sure I'm brave enough for cold water. Any other ideas for what I can do would be great!

We don't have (or need) hot water in our van as we always use sites with facilities but, were we in your position, I'd simply boil a kettle, mix up some water in the washbasin and have a good wash with soap and a flannel.

I wouldn't put hot water into the drinking water container. In any case, the 'shower' is a joke in an Eriba and I wouldn't want to start spraying water around inside it as the compartment is not adequately sealed.

I wouldn't put hot water into the drinking water container either, but there's no reason why you couldn't use a different one instead. Those translucent plastic jerrycan things don't weigh much when they're empty.

If you've got a shower head-type tap, the hose it's attached to will reach out of the bathroom window so you could get a cheap pop-up toilet tent and pitch it next to the van so that the bathroom window opens into the tent door opening. That way you can preserve your modesty by showering - sort of - inside the tent. If you spend hours luxuriating in there while lathering your essentials then the heaps of bubbles coming out of the bottom (as it were) might attract a few quizzical looks, but you aren't likely to be doing that.

There are lots of pop-up toilet tents on eBay and the beauty of those is that they don't need a forest of guy ropes to hold them up and to trip over.

Adding water from the kettle to the bathroom water container to provide running hot water was suggested to me by Jason at AL when I was looking for my Eriba and explained that often I would not have site facilities and would want to wash and shave in the bathroom.

At this point by way of explanation it should be noted that some models only have one water storage container that provides water to both sinks.............others like mine have two separate tanks...........adding hot water to the tank that provides drinking water to the van is not a good idea as it encourages harmful bacteria to grow in the drinking water.
In a van with two separate tanks I can think of no season not to add warm water to the washroom tank.

Mine has two containers one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen (drinking water) so might add to the container we don't use for drinking and look at a tent for outside have to admit I was looking at the window and thinking of washing in a swimsuit so tent is even better
