Waste water containers

What containers do you use for the waste water. Recently I forgot a bucket and ended up buying a storage box that fitted just under and was ok as used site facilities mostly with only the late night cuppa to wash up so wasn't a problem. But away for a length of time wondered what others use. Some of the wheeled containers look almost as big as a Puck

I use the 23 litre waste container from Fiamma, it fits perfect in the Familia, when travelling I place it at the back in between the seats with a bed pole to keep it in place.

You can see it on the picture of my van to give you an idea how compact it is. We also use to use it with the Puck as well.

My fresh water and bathroom are both 12L containers so it gives me a good indication that the waste needs emptying with two refills of water.

Same here. The Fiamma tanks are a good size and shape for storing while travelling unlike the huge tanks the white box vans seem to use.

I used to have a Jerry can waste water container, I had to use a small luggage trolley when it was full especially if it was a long way to the service point, otherwise I would have arms like Mr Tickle....

Like Mr Calder, that's what we used to use until this year.
At Stratford earlier in the year and on this trip however, we decided not to use any pumped water in the van at all, opting instead for a 5 litre water container with a stop tap.
Therefore no large fresh water container and pump, no grey water container. It's so much easier and that's the way we used to do it when camping.
After all, there's invariably a fresh water stand pipe within 100 feet or so of the van anyway.

I seem to remember someone once suggesting that the diameter of the hole you drill in the bottom of the waste water container should be calibrated so as to ensure that the contents soak away into the ground overnight.

I had one of those black containers with the red cap but this year bought a waste master type one as they have 2 openings at different heights and I had trouble getting the black one under sometimes.

When I first started with my puck someone suggested I use a bucket..........when I replied it would be too tall they said cut 3 inches off the bottom............don't cut it off the top or you lose the handle

It was a joke. Someone got into trouble on another forum not known for having a sense of humour for making the same tongue-in-cheek suggestion.

Really! I'd of thought smilies would have been involved somewhere especially the "only joshing" one, I have seen people leave the cap undone because they are to lazy to walk their waste water to an outlet! I've also been on pitches which smell due to waste water being drained on pitch, imagine walking through someone's drained fat water and into your beloved Eriba, not for me joke or not.

Is there another forum!!!

I have a container under the sink in my 310 for the fresh water and a submersible pump. How do I connect a waste water container? At the moment, a small pipe comes through the floor of the van and protrudes for about 3cm. I place a bucket under that and it collects the waste from the sink. Am I missing something here?
