Don't know them but as you say, the sellers seem honest enough victoriana and based on an '89 model sold by Hob earlier this year, circa £3000 seems to be the asking price.

As I don't frequent the "other place" how long has the seller been a member? Have they registered just to sell it OR are they a longer term member?

Just checked on the "other place". Seller was registered March 2012. Not a regular poster but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'd be cool with that, sounds like they've just been unlucky

Ok do they seem genuine. But maybe a little to pricey for a bit of a fault

Try haggling, the worst that can happen is they say no.

Yes, rectangular roof. Looks like a nice little van victoriana. Why not ask him to give you a picture of the roof when open or at least an honest appraisal of its condition (canvas and scissor hinges)?

This might be a radical suggestion, but have you heard of a company called Kool Classics? They tend to deal in older Eribas, and their prices seem to me to be good. They have a section where you can tell them what you're after and they'll look out for one for you. It might be the solution for you.

This is what they say on their website:

Zitat

Why buy from Kool Classics?

* We are a family run business specialising in selling Retro Eriba and Vintage Caravans
* All our advertised caravans are owned by us, photographed by us and are here on UK shores
* Indoor all weather showroom with a selection of vintage Eriba caravans available to view all under 1 roof.
* All our Eriba undergo a 40 point inspection to ensure all appliances work and that she's ready to camp in.
* We are a trusted, British business so all our sales are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979. We would NEVER give you a receipt stating sold as seen. Beware of traders using the cover of a private seller as you are not covered.
* We have years of knowledge in the Eriba world.
* Viewings and handover of Eriba take place at our workshop in Hellingly, East Sussex.
* We take around 100 images of each Eriba and always have a photobucket pot of images for you to take your time viewing. We do not want to hide anything.
* We make videos of most of our Eribas. See our Kool Classics YOU TUBE CHANNEL
* Nationwide delivery or storage is possible for an additional fee.
* All our Retro Caravans are maticiously cleaned inside and out.
* Last of all we are trustworthy and there is no hard sell from us.

I ought to say that the only connection I have with them is that they're in the same county as me. Worth a look?

"Maticiously cleaned" eh?

Makes AL's ads seem positively literate.

What is it with Eriba dealers?

Nobody here would mind in the slightest if you were in their back pocket and took 75% of every sale they made

In one respect it would help if you did have a connection with them - as my fellow pedant Mr Cauldron notes, their spelling is pants

.
