I'm sorry to have bothered you, Derek. I'll PM you the next thread title for approval before posting it
What went wrong? Has your day got off to a bad start? Did next door's cat leave something in one of your slippers?

No but I hate cats.
You mustn't let cats cloud your judgement

9. Left fridge unlocked - what a mess!
10. Put can in upper locker which fell out in transit onto table (stowed on floor face up) breaking Formica surface.
11. Ditto bottle of soy sauce that fell out and smashed - now that took some cleaning up.

By the way, with my pedant's hat on once more, when Pete started this thread I thought it an odd title as I would have used the expression "Oops-a-daisy" that I recall from my Yorkshire childhood. As well as being used in connection with mistakes made (as in this thread) it is also used when picking up a child, "ups-a-daisy". Apparently there are more spelling variations to this colloquial expression than any other.
I find that kind of thing fascinating. I'm still trying to find the etymology of the expression "fonbrasant" that my grandma used when I was cheeky. Anyone else ever heard it said?

My Gran used to say these sort of things, I think it is a legacy from our days of Empire,
they tend to be phoenetic versions of French, Spanish, or other foreigner words brought
back by the troops and mis pronounced by the British and then local dialects.

I am curious (Pete is even curiouser) what is your problem with cats?
Is it a pussy fetish? do cats flit through your dreams?
You are feeling sleepy .....

I just can't stand them round me. Not a fetish although did have one in my youth. They always mark me if I am in the company of cats and seem determined to leap onto my lap.
One did that ages back and I leapt up in fright/shock/distaste/horror whatever and jolted Carole's arm just having been served coffee and you can guess the rest.
Friends who have cats, not many, put the cat out before I arrive.

We were pitching at Chirk CC when I drove forward with the brake cable attached. I thought someone was firing a rifle at us from the adjacent woods, so threw myself down onto the car seat.
At Meathop Fell CC I showed my wife how easy it is to take the door to the van off it's hinges having read a post on the other forum. She flatly refused to help me put it back on after I realised it was actually quite hard to line up the top and bottom hinges to replace it. Unfortunately quite a few other campers witnessed the event.
I've only just had a mover fitted so am looking forward to some cock-ups in that department.
Cheers Mark
