One of our Eribafolk Facebook friends, Pauline Graaff from South Holland, Netherlands has allowed us to copy this story and photos of the restoration of an Eriba Troll 555GT. An amazing amount of work and a stunning result.
Thanks Pauline for allowing us to share it.

This is the story in Pauline’s words:-

“Hi Folks, as promised here our Eriba story;

We like to camp, and had a small, old family heirloom caravan make; Danmark 350.
Since we had a few bad weather holidays and Family expansion we decided to buy a bigger caravan. But we would like to create a bond with it, like the old Danmark.
The Eriba touring distinguishes itself from the 'normal' boring Caravans so the choice was made.
Except for the one thing........its value.......
So we found a damaged one for our budget.

Check out the photos and you will discover that the bond was quickly created by meaning of 'blood sweat and tears'.

The axle was too much damaged, so we needed it replaced by another used one.
The body framework was also damaged and we needed to replace several steel tube profiles.
The Roof had several holes and the right side aluminium plating was damaged from front to back.
The steel frame at the front and back corner needed new bent tube profile.
Since the back window was also broken, we decided not to replace it but fill it with aluminium plating.

So the first holiday we had with the Eriba was to Croatia with one side unpainted aluminium and the left side in its original Eriba white.
Because of saving consideration, and to create a one of a kind Eriba, we decided not to paint the right site but removing the paint on the left and start polishing.........
What a job.........if yours is not damaged..........I don't recommend it to anyone....!

Saving grace is the positive reactions we get during our holiday, on camp sites and on the road, especially by other Eriba owners.

With a wink to the Airstream caravans, we changed the name to Eristream 555 GT.
Was it worth it? OH, YEAH !
Pauline & Goof”
