OK wise and wonderful people out there, as we have decided to give France a miss this year we thought we might treat ourselves to a Sun Canopy/Awning. Do any of you own either a Fortex or a Unico Verona? Can any of you give advice on ease of erection, attached to the caravan or free standing ,weight, type of poles etc etc you get the gist.
Thanks M,H nT

Have to say Rod that the Verona looks better and easier to erect on the videos but advice from someone who has 1st hand knowledge is always best

Hi Mick.
I hope not but it looks like you'll be out of luck with finding an owner of either of these awnings on here.
Both the Unico Verona and Fortex Aronde photos were taken by Brian (Aaron Calder) while on his travels in deepest France. Each of the photos have Video links beneath them but they're the same as the ones you've already watched.

We have a Unico Bologna which is the same frame construction as the Verona.
On the evidence of the Fortex video I would say that the Unico is a more straight forward assembly with fewer and simpler joints.

I had a Fortex Aronde, purchased from Jandi which I used on my Troll 555 & 552.
Expensive awning but superb quality. Not that difficult to erect given the it has two arch pole front and back and three roof but as with any full awning its the pegging out that gets you.

We have the Verona and it's a doddle to put up. After a few goes, we can now put up the sun canopy up in about 10 mins. If it's raining, once you slide the awning on the rail and zip the outside edge of the awning on the outer curved pole, you can do the rest in the dry unless it's blowing a gale. We use the sun canopy on its own most of the time in summer. Zipping the sides on gives more protection and the front goes on if it's really horrible. We are very pleased with it.
