What's your feelings about the Feeling?

Hi,
Just joined and looking at all options Eriba.
The Eriba Feeling caravans look like a good compromise and similar price to the Troll, you loose the "coolness" for more space so is there a general view on the Feeling range of vans? We are looking at getting the Troll 530GT fixed bed but should we also consider the Feeling 425?
Thanks

At least 3 members currently own one and one other member has owned one in the past.
We had a guided tour of Bigloue's Feeling at the Eribafolk Stratford meet earlier this year and, as you say, although it perhaps lacks the cool look of the Touring, the inside gives far more space.
JohnE, who because of his job as a Caravan Engineer, clambers under and around more Eribas than the rest of us have had hot dinners, has just purchased one so that in itself speaks volumes.

Blimey Charlie - I'd have bought a Morris Marina if I could have got one cheap enough...

The question I'd ask is what first attracted you to an Eriba? If it was the style, character and general all-round fabulousness of the Touring range, than anything else could well end up being a major disappointment after the initial novelty has worn off.
If it's space and equipment that you are looking for, then you should also consider a British-made caravan which will give you far more kit for your pound than any of Hymer's offerings.
I've come to the conclusion after five or more years of being an Eriba enthusiast, that most of us originally fell in love with the whole idea of owning such a quirky piece of retro engineering and let our hearts rule our heads. We simply had to have one. But whenever I visit friends' WWBs I'm always amazed by the space, comfort and the amount of equipment that comes as standard which in an Eriba would cost a fortune.
However, WWBs can depreciate horrendously. A recent poster mentions how stunned they were by their low trade-in valuation after only three years of ownership from new whereas Automotive Leisure's web page has similar age/specification caravans to ours on offer for more than we paid four years ago.
All this needs to be taken into consideration.

We really love our Hymer nova, loads of floorspace for us and the girls. Fantastic heating and an end washroom with wardrobe. No need for an awning in bad weather BUT. If we could only keep 1 it would be our beloved Eriba, no contest. Ellen.

Have you considered the Eriba Nova Light range?
Available in UK specification to order from Jandi
I've just purchased one, a 465 and really pleased.
It's a Feeling but with a solid top.
I know there is at least one other awaiting delivery at the moment.

...should we also consider the Feeling 425?
We bought our Feeling 425 from The Netherlands last November after owning a Troll 552 then a 540 the last 4 or 5 years. The decision to change was made after calling in to Tebay for a mooch round during a wet weekend at Hawes and we were really impressed by the internal space, the fixed bed and the overall build quality.
It took us almost 6 months to track one down (at the right price!) as they're quite rare in the UK, but eventually we spotted a bargain in The Netherlands - the dealer was retiring and the 425 was the last one in the shop.
My only gripe is the Al-Ko 'M' Chassis which is very tight on ground clearance. This isn't a problem if you don't need a motor mover, but as we did need one (our drive is awkward to reverse onto and the arrival home with the caravan was always marked with the odour of slipping clutch) we bit the bullet and fitted the Al-Ko Mammut. This fits between the chassis rails as opposed to being clamped underneath, avoiding a further 60mm reduction in ground clearance.
Although the Feeling is a little wider than the Touring range, and isn't at all 'pointy' at the front, it's very stable on the road and I think it tows just as well.
And it's still an Eriba

I must admit I am hoping to be able to get off the upgrade/change path, so buy the troll and that's it until we need a seasonal pitch some years down the line. My fear of the other Eriba vans is that they look other vans and so the pressure to change may be too great after a few years?
