You can fit and use a pressure-switched socket with your microswitched taps - you'll need to wire a 12V feed to the back of the socket, (via a pump on/off switch) to run the external pump.

The wiring to the taps will become redundant.

Thanks very much. I thought I could, but its nice to have a second opinion. I will use the wiring for the present pump and take it back to where the new socket will be.
