.................without the bleeing gas fridge playing up. We need it for 2 nights this weekend as doing a Hash even in a pub campsite minus EHU. Tried to fire it up today as a test, used both cylinders, one unused and the other about 3/4 full and not a single bloop of firing by sound or by vision through the daft little glass way down in the depths of the fridge.
As it is near the end of the season - for us at least, no idea yet of extending it and if we do it will be on EHO site, I intend to forget it unitl next year service. However it was looked at by AL early this year on request and they reported it OK.
AAAarrghhh!!!!
Think it's probably a case if you don't use it, it doesn't want to when needed, so there!

This may be a one for Percy Verance Derek.
Last year when our fridge electrics gave up we had to resort to gas for the first time in ages. However, we just couldn't get the thing to light and after about 10 minutes we called it a few names and gave up.
However after about 2 minutes Percy took over and we went back to look at it and it lit first time.
This happened on every occasion for the rest of the holiday.

This happened to me this weekend. I was advised that it was probably a spider's web over the jet. Removed plastic grill and blew air at the jet. Hey presto! Been working fine since.

Yes we've had that too. Could be anything.
In whatever vehicle we have had the same problem has existed and it's certainly not new in this forum.
VW T2 campervan, VW T4 ditto, and in our Eriba.

Someone has to say it so "operator error" seriously we had one on our Burstner and the thing would'nt light on gas, being excellent at diy I called out an expert he used a divers bottle and opened the valve, "they don't like it up them and it worked fine everafter, Derek maybe with our combined diy skills we could manage to find an expeert in ghe diy section of yellow pages, at least we'd know where to look!

Seriously hope you get it sorted these things can wrankle as you get older!

It takes a seriously long time for the gas to fill the pipe work and reach the igniter.
The cardboard tube from kitchen roll or cling film over the site glass will increase your vision of the pilot light and spark.
Send her back out there Derek!

I always light a gas ring on the cooker first to make sure the gas is getting through.

Sometimes its hard to tell if its on or not, a hand over the top grill on the outside of the van will let you know,if its warm to the touch its working

No spark, got one whoompf then nothing. Tried vacuum up the back, gas on for ages. Carole will try later. Got cold slabs in house freezer, but not too botherd as all food, beer and wine is provided. We will take our own though. Just odd stuff in the fridge, milk, snacks and something for grand-daughter and her pals and maybe a cake Carole will make later today before WI. About 50 due, mostly tenters.
