Good evening Eriba-ists.
Is there anyone out there who has retro-fitted hot water system into their van. Any info greatly appreciated.

I don't have hot water fitted, however I do have a supper kettle which means I have 3 litres of boiling water for drinks and washing etc. It's bit cheaper than a fitted unit plus I can use it for drinking....

Hi Frank.
Our van is cold water only but I'm sure other Eribafolk members can give you a brief description of how their factory fitted hot water systems are fitted. Having read a little bit about them, it does appear that the Propex 10L tank is superior to the Truma one normally fitted. It also has the benefit of a 13amp plug in.

Hi Franko
I fitted a Propex 10L water heater. This is 240v only so no complicated fitting with gas.
Our heater fits neatly under one of the front dinette benches in our Troll. If you have a toilet in your van you will need to connect pipework to both sink taps. Not difficult but just needs a bit of thought regarding pipe routing.
You will need to swap your taps for mixer taps if not already fitted as ours was.
We are very impressed with the Propex heater and wouldn't be without it now. It heats up very quickly and can be adjusted for temperature.

Hi Martin, how do you fill them up, is it an external filler?

We had a Truma 5 litre fitted in our Triton in the back battery locker. We love it it's one of the best things we have done in the Triton It heats up very quickly.....I usually switch it on as soon as we're plugged in and connected to the water...by the time I need it, the water is always hot, ..........usually within about half an hour of arrival when we wash our hands prior to pouring the Campari and Soda
