Don't have one, don't want one and understand one. No Smart phones here anyway.
.
And there I was hoping to be the last human (loosely speaking ) on the planet without a smart phone (or even a mobile) after seeing a kid outside a mud hut somewhere in Africa fiddling with his mobile I thought I was well on the way
App, short for application usually meaning a cut down version of a prog (program) don't you just hate the shortening of what is an easy language to type or speak?
After reluctantly buying a tab (tablet computer) trying to keep up with modern times I have found most apps are crap and mainly intended to get you logged onto the owners system the better to spy on your browsing activity so they can better bombard you with owner specific adverts
Being a devious bar steward and deliberately trying to upset the status quo it sometimes gives me a good laugh what they come up with thinking They have my interests pinned down.
The tablet has so far made me create 5 new log in identities all of which I refuse to log into and has meant I rarely bother to turn it on and even less use it on line
The recent "give away" of windows 10 also points to the data stealing and advert specific aiming of log in only identities as the current "way forward" on the internet
With that in mind after upgrading I went through every setting in windows settings and turned off every setting monitoring what I was using and that might report back also made sure firebox was my only browser as Microsoft browsers leak everything you look at back to HQ
We live in an advert dictated financial society and if you log into somewhere like ebay its frightening how they know what you last looked at and can "recommend" other products,Amazon has become so adept at doing this now that I refuse to use it

Oh Dear, we seem to forget that for centuries it has been possible to "track" us!! Even I remember signing a cheque at a bank or wherever, which means you can be tracked to that place at that time.
I suspect even your new car has a crash sensor with a sim card are you going to disable it ? If you do I wish you well (god forbid) you are ever involved in a tragic accident.

Well if that's all you've got to worry about, Nav, then you should count yourself very lucky indeed. Has it crossed your mind that your location can be pinned down each and every time that you log onto the forum and what about the Cookies that the site has placed onto your computer - have you any idea how many and what they are noting?
In short - you'll never remain anonymous/hidden no matter how hard you try. Data can and will be collected from and about you in this day and age but so what? If you've got nothing to hide and are not a villain nobody will be looking that closely at anything about you anyway so just accept things as they are, let the system work for you and hence make life that little bit easier, and move on.

My sincere apologies to anyone who was offended by the last line (now edited by mods) of my post above, as always my comments are straight from what I consider to be tic = tongue in cheek.
If I offend anyone at anytime please let me know! We cannot be expected to know everyone's limits!
Once again my sincere apologies, and a big THANKYOU to admin for the "friendly" way in which they administer the forum for us all to enjoy!!
