12 Volt Battery
Hi Folks. I have recently acquired an Eriba Pan Familia year 2000 and could not find a space to connect it to a 12 Volt Battery and some of you nice folk pointed me in the direction that it might be an import from Belgium. I did notice that the caravan has continental 2 pin sockets and thought perhaps that all Eribas of that vintage were made that way. It turns out that it is in fact a Belgian import. Could anyone suggest what would be the advantages of fitting the appropriate wiring to accommodate a 12 volt battery other than the interior lights? Would the fridge work of this also or would it not run the battery down quite quick. Any comments and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Ok so no other replies, so here goes, I am not familiar with the electrics in a Pan Familia year 2000 but if its anything like my 1989 Puck you need a battery to work the water pump and maybe the 12 v lights
Have a look round in the wardrobe and under seats for somewhere to connect a battery
See this blog 1\2 way down
blog-u31-The-Eriba-experience.htmlWhatever you find there is no way a fridge will run from a caravan internal battery it uses too much power, if there is a 12v option on a fridge it will only run from a car alternator while being towed if connected correctly.
Early vans had both 12v and mains lights fitted, later models only 12v needing either a battery or hookup to provide power.
