I thought people might like to see pictures of my Unico Bologna awning on my 2016 Familia 310GT.
This is our 5th Eriba and I decided to push the boat out on the awning and go for the Unico even though they are very pricey. It is without question the best awning I have had on any of the Eribas we have owned. Its a doddle to put up and fits the van great.
If your in the market for a new awning I would highly recommend the Unico Bologna, we bought ours from Yorkshire Caravans of Bawtry who were actually about a £100 pounds cheaper than buying it direct from Bax in Holland.
Cheers
John

That looks very sexy! Well worth the spend I think it does look the part. What is the difference on the Verona and the Bologna? to those with experience in these matters.

According to Bax the Verona is the sun canopy and the Bologna is the full awning but by the time you add in all the front, sides etc for the Verona its the same price as the full awning but does not come with curtains or blinds unless your prepared to pay 200 euros for optional blinds.
The Bologna comes with everything included complete with window blinds and can be used as a full awning or with the sides and front removed so with them all out its a canopy. For me the Bologna made most sense and having errected it a few times now, it is so easy to put up l cant really see why you would go for anything else.
So unless someone with a Verona can shed more light I can't see the advantage over the Bologna.
The only extra I bought for mine was the "eriba strip" to improve the capacity of the rain channel.

I thought there was a difference in the sizes!
There is also the extra 'veranda' (luiffell?) that can be attached to the Bologna but not the Verona. Check out the pictures in the gallery for what this looks like.

If that is the difference then it makes sense you went for the Bologna. However I managed to get the Verona second hand and not had a chance to put it up yet. It does have the front section but don't think it has curtains etc. Next purchase will be the groundsheet specifically to clip or attach in the Verona.

You were lucky to find one second hand, there are not many about, I would have probably done the same had one been on offer to fit my van but in the absence of that and buying new, the Bologna made more sense for me.
Be interesting to hear if you locate a dedicated clip in floor for your.

I'm just waiting on an email from a dealer in Germany to tell me when my Troll 540GT has been delivered from the factory and is ready for collection (week 19 of 2016 they said, and I can but hope). When I placed the order I also ordered the 540 specific Isabella Bologna awning together with the requisite amount of Bolon awning carpet. But, as I have never been caravanning before, I can't work out if that is all the 'flooring' I need. Does this Bolon stuff act as groundsheet and awning floor? I realise (as it was on a huge roll in the showroom) that it doesn't 'zip into' the structure of the awning so I assume that there is always a potential 'gap' where the foot of an awning butts up to the flooring/groundsheet of an awning? And, finally, do I cut the Bolon so that it is pegged down 'inside' the awning, or do I cut it oversize so that it is pegged down 'outside' the awning, in which case I assume that the awning pegs puncture the Bolon carpet, which seems rather odd to me.
Any advice greatly appreciated!

An interesting post Steve. Never heard of Bolon awning carpet but have just found this video:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd3Jaqs17Ps
Another interesting thing is that in the video they use Clingon clips or similar to hold the carpet/groundsheet down. Now why didn't I think of that? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Clingon-Large-In...t/dp/B005OCXCTK

I have a Bolon carpet to use in our Unico Bologna. However it is still in its packaging a year after buying it.
When we get it out I intend to cut it to shape slightly oversized as I don't know if it will stretch or shrink. Then after using it once or twice I will make it a good fit and use clingons to pull it into shape and peg it.
Despite the advert's claim I think it is very heavy!
Over the years we have used a variety of 'carpet' and ground sheets but we are more and more going without a full cover and just using small pieces outside the van door or at the awning entrance.
If the ground is wet or muddy the ground sheet becomes filthy and heavy so hard standings are attractive in winter.

So I assume then Frantone, that the pegs that you use to keep the awning upright will be hammered into the ground away from, and therefore not into, the Bolon carpet. So the surface of the Bolon remains hole puncture free?

i have one of these fantastic awnings for my 2008 troll 550, the only issue i had that the frame locking cam handles became brittle and 2 actually snapped when trying to tighten up. replaced them all with threaded thumb screws, much better solution. Brian.

When I looked on the awning website it looks like the groundsheet is a Velcro fix to the awning itself if I find the link will post it.
I think this is it
