Packing your Eriba?
Tonight I have been out playing in my Triton as I was having visitors!! I know, it's still a thrill to show it off. So I started to pack the things I dumped in it without thinking such as my awning and poles, plastic small table one of those Craft type collapsible ones, electric heater, dehumidifier etc as I had just placed them on the floor and to my surprise, all the awning went under one of the benches and the table went under the other. The small electric heater and dehumidifier went in the wardrobe and it left the Eriba (Bertha) uncluttered and able to sit in for our wee caravan warming (again)!
The question is do any of you tow with the awning under the seats as I try to put most weight over the axle and on the nose just inside the door. I also sometimes carry a fold up bike (14KG) just in the doorway to help with nose weight as I only carry one gas bottle.
Looking forward to getting out again and can't wait as I have been having withdrawal symptoms!
Please don't say carry in the car as my car is chocabloc with 12 legs!! and crates. So everything needed goes in Bertha.
You could save a little space and weight by leaving out the dehumidifier.

Thanks Frantone, the dehumidifier is only a little boating one and compact and lightweight from Aldi. I haven't use it yet but as a friend who has a motorhome said he uses his and it was excellent at collecting the water then I thought I would try it. I don't think it will be to used in the summer months as with the window ajar and the pop top up it would defeat the purpose but in the winter I noticed how much condensation there was at night so thought I would give it a go.

I don't have a full awning any more, the porch awning (if I take it) goes on the floor at the front but with alloy poles does not weigh a lot anyway, the caravanstore when taken, goes in through the front window and lays on the floor full length.
Smaller type sunshades do go under the seat via the outside locker where they are easier to get at without having to disturb the bed. (once the bed is made up at the beginning of the season it stays that way all season)
So it depends what I decide to take as to where it goes, the main object is to keep the noseweight within limits.

Dehumidifiers are fine if the humidity in the space you're attempting to dry is a lot higher than the ambient level (as it would be if your house had been flooded, for example), but in a caravan full of holes both intentional and otherwise it won't make any appreciable difference. Dry the air inside and it'll just be replaced by damper air from the outside.
I'm not sure I'd bother taking it.

while its great to have an area to put awning, am one for placing heavy items over axle for towing, and stashing when arrive on site
if leaving under seat towing may suffer with eriba nose bobbing, or back end sway, its all about balance front x back side to side..
if keeping under seat over winter ensure a good air flow by pulling seats slightly forward
12 legs???

You can set the windows to "air" - there's an intermediate setting, or whatever you'd call it, so the air can circulate, but the windows are effectively locked. The last couple of weekends we've been away, we've slept with our little oil-filled radiator on and the windows on air and have had no condensation.
