My 6kg needed changing this weekend and had lasted ten nights of off grid. I have a Trumastore water boiler as well as the normal fridge and cooker and used the heating at Easter and a weekend in April, so this time of year 3.5kg should last a festival easily.

I have the 6kg bottle. I'm no expert on gas levels but gave it a shake when I got back & there seems plenty in there. I'm planning on buying a smaller bottle before my next festival to use when the big one runs out, I don't want to be 'panic replacing' before every festival. The horror of stale milk, warm drinks & no ice!!! Hahaha

Fridge was on maximum setting from Thursday late morning to late Monday morning, I only have a little Puck & prefer the worktop space to put my stuff on. Plus the smell of cooking seems to linger for ages in the van - used a little camping stove in the tunnel of my awning where there is plenty of ventilation.

To preserve the battery I used solar lights on the outside (with bunting of course) and a string of USB powered LED lights run off a small power bank in the awning so I could see what I was doing when I got back. The only thing the battery ran is the internal lights when I was crawling into bed. Luckily, I had plenty of power banks from my tenting years so all my charging was done using these.

Enjoy your first festival trip in your Eriba. I was smiling from ear to ear every day at the sheer luxury of not lugging my stuff to camp & sleeping in a warm cosy bed!!!!

How did it go for you in your Eriba? I have never seen it so crowded in the majority of camping areas, and as for the mud! My daughter took ill on Saturday night had to call the medics out. She was still bad on Sunday morning so we had to leave, we had great help from the site stewards and couldn't have managed without them. She recovered after a couple of days and on return to work found out that there had been a sickness bug going round the office and several of her colleagues had been ill! Missed all the Sunday acts so here's to next year

Awwww. What a shame Old Rocker. A lot of my friends went & yes it certainly was muddy!! Glad you got back off the site ok, quite a lot had problems.

There was also a sickness bug going around Glastonbury, which I suppose is inevitable with all that mud.

I'm off to Latitude on Thursday. Fingers crossed it's not a mud bath, a lot of festivals have been this year but I've struck lucky with mine so far.

Came past the venue on the way home today Its a pain for us locals with all the roads blocked by festival goers I live about 10 miles from henham, have a great time I will be doing my best to avoid the area Lots of signs out around the surrounding area pointing to the festival enjoy

Awww, thanks very much for that Hob. Looks like I'm in for a good weekend

Understand what you mean about festivals disrupting the locals, I live near a big event venue in Manchester & it's a real pain when the roads are blocked with revellers!!

I'll try not to block any roads doing a 33 point turn

Some say I'm too old. Or old enough to know better. ........

But I bought the beautifully comfortable Molly Puck so I can carry on the party for at least another decade!

I'm old enough to remember carrying a ghetto blaster on my shoulder with the Beatles singing "all you need is love" (bugger showing my age there)so maybe best to stick to steam rallies

I did go a couple of years ago

An off grid weekend

and got an email yesterday telling me advance bookings were available
