I'll be at Glastonbury again this year and despite protestations from my beloved who is attending her 1st Glasto, there is not a cat in hells chance of me taking our Troll. Having heard about the chaos that is the caravan/campervan areas and the fact that it is at least a 20mins walk to get into and out of the festival site We are in a tent, end of!

My initial though after getting my Puck was "yay, I can end my 15 year break from Glastonbury" until I realised the CV area is on another farm outside the festival walls and they're crammed in like sardines.
Hmmmmmm. I think I'll stick to the small/medium ones!!!

My experience was different!
I had the same fears and concerns that most people have - cramped, loud. muddy and smelly toilets!
My wife is a regular at Glasto but I refused to camp with the hoards in a muddy field so have always declined to accompany her! She has always done Glasto with with two of her girl mates. She was still keen for me to go so I agreed to give it a try but only if I could sleep in a campervan. I planned on buying a cheap van but ended up with a not so cheap VW T2 bay window!
We were lucky to get tickets last year so off we went! We camped in the east campervan field in our T2 and, because we arrived nice and early on the day the fields opened, managed to a get a spot nearer to the entrance. It is true that the CV fields are outside the perimiter fence but this was not a problem for us. CV's are lined up as you arrive and the later you turn up the further you would have to walk to reach the main gate - so early bird and all that, pays!
The main entrance to the festival was accessed via the infamous 'Hill of Death', which to be honest is no more than a small hill and is not an issue unless you are not so able. The east field is more level I believe.
Re the actual camper van fields - I had friends who camped inside the fence with all the other tents and I can say that it is not for me. The ability to withdraw from the excitement at the end of the day was great. The CV field is calm and organised and when you arrive it is easy to explain to the 'marshalls' (normally students in a hi viz!) that you need a large space for your towing vehicle, caravan, camper van, awning etc. In our fields there were Mazda Bongos. Vw T2's, T25, T4, T5 small vintage caravans large old and modern caravans, motorhomes and yes, also Eribas's! My neighbour was in a Puck. There was an excellent friendly vibe and very relaxing. All ages but because it is during school term time - no children.
I thought that the Festival was absolutely great and whilst the music is excellent the remainder of the sights and entertainment is brilliant! I'm a convert so applied for tickets this year but did not get any.
To those who like festivals - I recommend it but tickets are becoming harder to get!
I'm still on the hunt for a Puck to compliment my T2 and will apply for Glasto next year, being ever hopeful!

Always quite a few eribas at Shrewsbury Folk Festival. Much more spacious than the pictures shown. Actually, I'm amazed by the tent picture. At Kennel Club dog shows, units must be at least 6m apart.

I agree with EllieMay - it's a bit of both, and I'll be on the lookout for Eribas at festivals this year.
I've been working at festivals for many years, usually doing 12-13 back to back from June to September, and always living in my bell tent. I'm lucky to have no lengthy trudging across festival sites from camping areas, as I'm usually in artists' or crew camping which is near the action, or pitched right next to my work space. However, the weather has been pretty awful for the past couple of summers, and last year I decided it was crucial to rethink my living quarters if I'm going to continue working the festies. Although in my head I'm still 25, unfortunately my body says otherwise, so a warm, dry and comfy living space is now essential after a hard day's work.
So that's why i decided to get an Eriba, and when I heard about an impending windfall coming my way, I knew exactly what to do with it - get a Puck. I love my bell tent and will still use it occasionally, but not when working. Living in Pandora will make such a difference to my festival season, with less setting up to do (only my work tent to deal with now, instead of both working and living-in tents) and best of all, a comfy dry nest to disappear into every night.

Sorry but I have no photos available but I can assure you that the tent camping away from the main areas i.e. around the Pyramid stage and the John Peel tent which is where I am guessing the tent photo was taken are less crowded than this. We always camped away from the main area, Lime Kiln was our preferred spot you had to walk a little further but it wax less crowded and less noisy, but this year we have the luxury of camping in the family area as we, my daughter and I, are taking not only my wife a Glasto virgin at 63 but also the youngest member of our family our 14 month old grand-daughter. Glastois so different to any other festivals and the kids we have seen over the years love it. Why would you go to a festival and want to be outside of it?

Just returned from Bearded Theory in Molly Puck & it was brilliant, such a huge different experience from camping. Cold beer & no bad back!!!! She was a beautiful little oasis at the end of the night. I was all snug & warm and I woke up refreshed & raring to go again each morning.
Quite a few Eribas there. Had a little Puck-Off on the first day. Hahaha.
Unfortunately, I have no sober pictures to display. Oops....
Can't wait for the next one!!!
