I use a small Bosch 18v drill driver (maximum torque setting) with the drill attachment that can be bought from caravan dealers. It does the steadies and my Reich Move Control Comfort without any problems. The length was cut down so it does not wobble around too much. Just long enough to reach the steadies through the plastic faring. I can engage the rollers and raise the steadies swiftly and with no effort.

You need to be careful which one you buy. The end on this one looks like a socket.

Thanks Philip, I have two of those and both chatter and don't do the job.

I don't know how to describe it. Look at the end. You need the version that looks like a standard socket set end for a firm grip. The majority don't look like this and don't provide the grip. I went down this route at first and like you say, they just don't do the job on the mover.

Derek using the previous image to illustrate there is a bit you can twist round behind the chuck (arrowed) it adjusts the torque of the drill, try setting that to the highest setting and having another go.

The rollers on our mover really do take some effort to wind onto the tyres even when freshly lubricated and while I currently can manage with the wheelbrace, a socket, extension bar and ratchet handle would make the job easier - but at the cost of carrying even more gear.

I don't think an electric drill is the answer; fine for corner steadies but not really up to the job for the rollers.

Mr Calder is quite right. Derek asked for this for Carol to use. The torque would be too much for her. The correct sized socket on a long handled ratchet driver would work.

Cheers Philip, Nev, Brian and Tony. The ratchet may be the best.
