Towing Cover

Last weekend at the Eribafolk Corby Meet, Eriba4us (Dave and Viv) showed up with this really well designed and made Towing Cover.

Viv and her trusty sewing machine did most of the hard work and NO, she will not make one for you but I'm sure they'll offer advice and inspiration to those of you who wish to make one.

Good afternoon Eriba lovers, I have just purchase an Eriba familia and on the first outing found that my caravan was covered in muck when we arrived home. I have been looking everywhere on the internet to find a towing cover to help protect my Eriba in transit.

Would anybody know where I can purchase one or get one made as it would the the icing on the cake if I could get one and extend the life of my new caravan.

Hi Myra and welcome to Eribafolk.

I'm glad you found this thread as you're far more likely to get a response on the live forum rather than the blog page.

Unless others know more, I'm sure that there isn't a ready made towing cover for the Eriba Touring range. Perhaps a tent maker, a sail maker or an awning repair service might be interested. This thread gives a recommendation for an awning repair and alteration service that might be interested. Awning Repairs and Alterations

This is something a number of folk have been searching for! (At least those not so clever with DIY projects). If anyone can persuade a manufacturer to make such a thing I'm sure lots would be interested!

Perhaps it's something that should be discussed with Automotive Leisure when many of you descend on them early next month?

Silly I know but if we ever came up with one I would insist that there be two reinforced window sized rectangles in the front over the windows, not only to give extra protection to said windows but also to preserve the unique look of the front of the van whilst towing.

Towing cover for a Pan Familia?

And I have moved it to the existing thread that Myra had already become involved with (Randa france Administrator)

I am new to this as I purchased my very first Eriba familia at the beginning of March and took it for its test drive that day to a camp site in the Yorkshire Dales.

It was beautiful to tow and just had to adjust to driving with a caravan attached to my car.

What a delightful, compact caravan it is. really enjoyed the trip.

The only downside is that when you are towing, much comes up from the road and marks the caravan. We have been advised to obtain a towing cover.

I have looked everywhere on the internet. It would seem that standard ones have to have two channels going from top to bottom to fit a standard caravan. The Eriba is not a standard caravan.

Would there be anybody out there that can help me so that I can look after this beautiful little caravan and stop it from being marked to death by road tar, flies and muck.

I look forward to all your help as part of the Eriba community
