Isabella Bologna with Troll 540/542

If any member has the following combination of awning and caravan I'd be interested to know the precise distance between the two eyes of those brackets that are screwed permanently onto the awning rail at either end of the van. I'm sure there's a technical name for these brackets but as they are not required with our current Walker awning I've got no idea of what it is.
We're toying with the idea of replacing our 430 with a 542 and with the Walker awning being too small for the new van we'll probably go the whole hog and replace the awning as well. Having two left hands, we'll let the dealer do any drilling of brackets prior to delivery to not void any guarantees.

We have the 540/Bologna combo and I will get the measurements of our brackets for you when we return home on Saturday.
I would be interested in anybody else's measurements too as I am not absolutely convinced about how accurate ours are.
There are straps on the back upright fabric that fasten over the side arms that hook into the awning eye brackets which then tension the awning ........
I give up!
Pictures to follow next week.🙄

We have a Bologna with a 530, the distance between centres of the awning brackets is 344cm as recomended by BAX the Dutch Unico suppliers.
The key thing is to ensure that the right hand bracket is located to allow the eriba door to open fully with the awning erected, the 542 door location is probably slightly different to the 530.
I can only confirm the excellent reports by Unico owners, it's a great awning.

We have the same and my brackets seem slightly too close together compared to the awning. They were OK for the Soplair awning as far as I remember (only used it twice) but looks for the Bologna the RH bracket as you look at the door needs to a bracket width further to the right.
Will check again next week when we are in France.

If you buy another Walker, you don't need to drill any holes, they have developed a system for fitting without fixed brackets.

Agreed, Dave. Whilst we have absolutely no complaints regarding the awning itself and this also takes into account the pads that are held against the van by applying tension to the poles, I'm not entirely confident that this compression would have the same on a smooth finished van. Our current 430 is dimpled or hammer effect (call it what you will) and the paint is almost flat which I tend to think adds a bit to the non-slipability (new word for the dictionary lol) of the pads. Whether they would hold fast to a smooth gloss finished van er..................
Just as a bit of non useful information for anyone else reading this blurb. I called in to our local dealer in Stuttgart earlier this morning who advises me that if we were to order a new van this week then we might just get in on the production run that would almost certainly ensure delivery by the end of May 2017. All production runs that would ensure an earlier delivery are already fully booked for customers that have already ordered. Wow. It's a case of one week churning out a bunch of 430, the next 530, the next..........well you get the drift.

Just an update on this. The Isabella 2017 catalogue dropped through our letterbox earlier today and following a quick thumb through thought for a moment that I had found our perfect awning..........the Isabella Capri Coal. If anyone has an idea of where the door is on this thing I'd be interested to hear lol.

That is until I looked through the appendix price list we indicates that this thing cost almost one thousand nine hundred Euros and attaches to the caravan in the same way as the Walker Touring Plus awning i.e. pads etc and which cost a mere eleven hundred Euros by comparison. So, unless we can negotiate a really heavy discount at the upcoming Camping and Caravan exhibition in January I think we'll probably upgrade to a larger Walker awning which in the past we have been very happy with and have not suffered any unwanted eventualities shall we say.
And yes, into this post you can also read that we shook hands on a deal for the purchase of a new Troll 542 to which Alloy wheels and a fly-screen need to be ordered from Hymer and fitted so actual collection date is open. However, it will go straight into winter sleep so there's not really a rush.

Automotive Leisure sell them and I would assume you would also be able to order them from any Isabella awning supplier. The pictures in the AL link appears to show a door either side at the front and the sides as you can just make out the black tie backs.

Have measured our brackets and centre to centre is 333cms so would seem the rh bracket needs to move 11cm to the right . The door currently will no open fully either but not sure even if i move it the correct amount it would still open.

Any use Deeps?
The door will never open fully on a 540 with a Bologna awning.

Thanks for the pictures. In fact this is the same situation with our current Walker Touring Plus awning that we have previously used with the Triton 430. I don't suppose it would be any different with the slightly larger Walker awning that is provided for the Troll.
The only difference between what I see in your images compared to our set up is that whilst your poles are connected directly to fittings screwed to the awning rail our are held in position just below the awning rail using pads that are held in situ by the applied tension on the side poles.

Tony, did you measure the awning brackets on your Troll with regards to the Unico Awning ??

Sorry I completely forgot!
The end brackets are 344 cm apart measured at their centres. The central bracket is exactly half way between them.
The awning fits well but I can't help feeling that the measurement should be 340 cm!
There are straps attached to the rear upright part of the awning fabric which pass around the hooks of the side arms which locate into the brackets. These tension the fabric outwards so a small difference in the position of the brackets can be compensated for.
