Extension Mirrors

I've never felt happy with any of the more common methods of attaching extension mirrors to the car for use when towing the caravan. Although somewhat expensive, I bit the bullet and ordered the Spezialspiegel (Special Mirrors) manufactured by EMUK article No. 100331. The mirrors when supplied painted in car colour do cost extra of course but in my opinion these mirrors which have a rubber backing so that contact with the car mirror is non-damaging are really the dogs whatsits. I have shortened the arms by a few centimetres because our coming Troll is only 210cm wide whereas the full length as supplied would of course be more suitable for much wider caravans. They are absolutely waggle-free and secure to the original car mirrors as though they were glued on. Excellent stuff imho.

They really look like a well designed and the look is superb with your car and the coloured arm. Notice they have a design award as well.

These mirrors look great.

I will need to get some towing mirrors and like the idea these won't scratch. Where can these be ordered from?

Ah, good question because EMUK is a German company and this is where I also happens to live. Having no idea of the make of vehicle that you drive I'll have to answer your question in general terms.

First off, EMUK manufacture 2 types of mirrors the first variety of which they describe as 'Universal Mirrors' (Universalspiegel in German) and 'Special Mirrors' (Spezialspiegel in German) which are more expensive. In my opinion, other than perhaps the quality of finish there wouldn't be a lot to differentiate the Universal Mirrors with those available from Milenco & Co although having never owned any Universal Mirrors this is purely a supposition on my part. Universal mirrors are of course, as the name would suggest, made to fit a wide range of vehicles.

The Special Mirrors are vehicle specific and the means of attachment to the vehicle will obviously vary accordingly. Then of course you would need to decide whether or not you require the mirrors to be finished in the colour of your vehicle for which you pay a premium. However, the construction of the mirrors is the same in terms of quality of course.

If you click on the following link http://www.emuk.com/spezialspiegel.html followed by clicking on the yellow highlighted text at the top '(Siehe Typenliste)'. This will open up another window showing all the vehicles for which EMUK make mirrors for. Take a look at this list and make a note of the Bestell-No. (Order Number) against your choice.

Now take a look at this UK link https://www.reimo.com/en/D-camping_shop/...R-emuk_mirrors/ who state that if you can't find the EMUK mirrors that you are looking for that you should contact them - hence making a note of the Bestell-Nr.

If after all this you still wish to proceed and are having no joy with the UK end get back to me via PM and I'll see what I can do to advice you further.

Yes, although I can only speak for the setup with my own car of course. That said, I can see no reason why the situation shouldn't be the same with all car mirrors.
