Only just caught up with this thread and I think "Wow" just about sums up my impression. Big question mark is if I show Kath these photo's as she will certainly want some for our 540GT

Al (The Vast Minority) Just posted this link on Facebook so I've "borrowed" it just in case he doesn't post it here.

Man those are expensive. We roll up the duvets, clip with a strap and hey presto, instant corner cushions!

Corner cushions are for wimps. We shove the dogs into the corners and lean on them. Soft and warm.

Just read the one about using dogs as cushions. Boris would be good! Don't think Rags would put up with it and Gryph wouldn't stay still!

After looking at The Vast Minority's post on corner cushions we decided to get a pair. They arrived today and they went straight into the van, what a difference no more shuffling about trying to get comfortable, they make a world of difference. We can recommend them, they might cost a bit but we think they are worth it.

Here is a better shot of the cushions. For ref, this is a 530. I'm not sure how they would fit another troll or any other Eriba. I'm sure the troll on display that I took them out of was a 550. Call Faye or Michael at AVL and tell them what you have, I'm sure they will be very helpful.

Pics of them both installed are enclosed. Note, they come level with the edge of the seat bases and stay In place perfectly when towing.

Al

I like them, I really do..

My only quibble, besides the price, is that none of the other upholstery is button trimmed, so it sort looks a bit out of place in that respect. Maybe they could be made sans buttons or maybe you could get them to button the original upholstery, so there's some continuity of style.

Blimey, not you as well.

What kind of price would you think was reasonable for what is an extremely low-volume bespoke item?

If you were sufficiently skilled at making soft furnishings from scratch, what would you charge, bearing in mind that you aren't a charity and you're not doing them as a favour.

And it's not like your aunty knitting half a dozen bobble hats for you and five of her other nephews while she sits in front of the telly - the person making these cushions (or doing similar work) has to make a living too.

Keep yer hair on PLP, I've got now't against somebody earning a decent crust, it's just that it's a fair bit of dough for not a lot of benefit.

I'm sure if I popped down the road to Bentley's works and asked them to make them for me in top quality hide, diamond stitched with contrast piping and the family crest in rubies and emeralds they'd charge a bit more than ADVL. I might pop in to the upholsterer in Nanters who redid our dining chairs and ask him how much he'd charge for a pair. Maybe even get a quote for high back front dinette cushions to see how they compare to Hymer's price.

If what I wrote gave you the impression that I was angry, then I apologise, because I wasn't.

Qualifying your view that they were expensive by saying that you thought they were expensive in the context of the value you might get from them is a slightly different issue.

Steamdrivenandy says it's a fair bit of dough for not a lot of benefit, when you've had 2weeks or more away and have been shuffling back and forth trying to get comfortable to look at the tv they make a big difference. So we think it's a fair bit of dough for a lot of benefit. You pay your money and be comfortabley happy.

Ah!

Maybe that's the difference, we never, ever take a TV with us in a caravan, campervan or motorhome.

Plenty enough to do talking, listening, reading, cooking, wi-fiing, fettling, walking, driving, visiting, contemplating, cleaning, polishing, grooming, napping, drinking, accounting, worrying, counting, noseying, drinking, gossiping, aquarolling, wastemastering, erecting, pitching, filling, refilling, drinking, showering, whittling, washing, drying, sleeping, drinking, planning, writing and did I mention drinking? To worry about TV.
