I think you CAN tow a caravan with a single 12N socket but it I'll mean not being able to use the 12v in the caravan, not using the fridge or charging the battery

Thanks, well after a 7 hour round trip to view the van.... the whole floor needs replacing and the frame is rotted through to the left of under the door! Needless to say, it's not parked on my drive. The owners were gutted when I pointed out what was lurking under the van and they did offer money off. If my back was up to crawling about in the thing for a week, I would have taken it on as a project but I really can't take it?
So, back to the drawing board :(

My advice would be to hold fire until you have found a van.

You never know, you might be lucky and find one that comes with an awning and other accessories included.

Gavin, the one I've linked you to on Eribafolk Facebook comes with an awning in the price.

Here's one for the daft idea pile..... anyone ever seen an extended pop top roof fitted before? I did it to a VW bay a few years back to get more head room and wondered about it for an eriba too

You used to be able to specify an extra height roof at purchase. It was made with a double scissor mechanism.

ps there might be a pic in the gallery.

A lucky escape. The guy I bought from was a VW camper owner who claimed he had no idea of the problems even though it was clear he had used body filler to cover the rust and then painted it black.

Well it looks like the van I walked away from has been bought by a first time eriba buyer. It's on the Facebook page and the seller is trying to deny it needs the floor replacing and has not even commented on the structural welding repairs it needs. Such a shame when people can't be honest :(

I've just read the Facebook thread that is being referred to and have decided to lock this thread as everything that needs to be said has already been expressed on there.
