Correct lubricants for my Troll

I am preparing my Troll for the winter lay up and need advice on lubricants. Is there a thread anywhere on the correct lubricants / materials to use on the plastic door lock, pop top scissor mechanism and the window seals.

I'd give the lock a squirt with a spray lubricant containing PTFE. Halfords sell it.

Graphite spray is supposed to be the correct thing to use, but it's very messy and a bugger to remove from unintended places - especially textured ones - if you aren't extremely careful. You can get little tiddly graphite spray cans on Ebay.

I'd give the scissor mechanism a squirt of white lithium grease on the pivot, sliders and return spring. Put a piece of cardboard behind the scissors to protect the canvas from accidental or premature squirtage.

The manual recommends a dusting of talcum powder for the window seals, so you could do what Hymer say. Me, I'd spray a bit of silicone lubricant into a rag and give them a quick wipe with that. Silicone is also the right thing to use for the toilet cassette flap and its seal.

Halfords sell both white lithium and silicone in aerosols too.

A wipe of silicone will also stop car door seals from freezing shut, and it's a good substitute for vinegar on a fish supper*

* that last part may not be true.

P.S. If you feel the need to grease the damper nipples, use Castrol LM multi purpose.

Thetford do a toilet seal lubricant spray for the toilet cassette seal available on line or maybe at your local caravan shop.

Olive oil can also be used for this.
