Well that's it then - all over but for the shouting. I've got a few pairs of socks and underpants going spare if anyone needs any.
"Christmas is not the same nowadays." Well, over the past several years as we've got older, that's the way I've been feeling.
However, the past couple of years and thanks mainly to the arrival of some new grandchildren, it's certainly sparked back into life.
Last Tuesday we took all the grandchildren on the Santa Special (Brecon Mountain Railway) to see Mr Claus. We've done it once before when the kids were young. Pre-booking was essential and everyone had an allocated seat on the train. I was a bit peeved at the length of the queue and the time it took to see the main man but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Even our 19 year old granddaughter and 15 year old grandson came along and he, especially, was super cool and was a very good sport when it came to meeting S.C.
It renewed my passion for Christmas. BMR.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
Yesterday, some of the family joined us for Christmas and it was a delight for Grandma to have the help of a 2 1/2 year old super hero Spider Woman to help distribute the presents.
Present of the day? Our yet to be born grandson has a super present from his uncles. His dad was made up but his mum was not sure how to react
