I must be missing something here as I'm perfectly happy with my Milenco Aeros having towed with them for thousands of miles on both sides of the Channel.

As per the last post - you're not missing anything. It's a case of what floats your boat and what one personally feels happier with. It must also be said that one must try or have tried both to appreciate the difference in construction, appearance and manner of securing to the vehicle. Whether the difference is enough to justify the cost difference is a matter of personal opinion of course. I've also used Oppi extension mirrors which are so basic as to be untrue, cheap and do the job the same as the Aero's but totally naff imho. Choices, choices, choices.

Doesn't matter how well they secure to the car's mirror, or how 'posh' they look, but how secure are the car's mirrors ! I had a pair fitted to our ex towcar, a Citroen C3 Picasso - no damage ever occurred to the car's mirrors which were not of sturdy construction, they were reasonable vibration free, never loosened, but did make creaking noises sometimes, which drove me mad !!!!!!! The spring holding the car's folding door mirrors was barely 'up to the job' with the extra mirrors attached. I found the extra mirrors more distracting to use than they were worth - just fitted to 'comply' and save the hassle of being 'pulled' ! In general I think, like others, that Aero Milenco Aero Mirrors are adequate for the job and reasonable value :)
I remember when I got the Insignia I bought some new milenco as the ones used on the Ranger did'nt fit.
I had always fitted the Ranger ones on the top edge of the mirror and could not get the milenco ones to fit the Insignia, I gave up eventually and took them back the guy in the shop said they fit just about every car and came out to the car park with me and promptly fitted them to the lower edge of the Insignia mirrors.
Definitely one of those feeling foolish moments.

The Milenco Grand Aero 3 looks like a nice big bit of glass - I think the MH got me used to nice big chunky mirrors with plenty of viewing area.
