If anyone wants them, make me an offer. You should get 10% discount on your caravan insurance if they are fitted.
Tsk. Haven't you read the sticky?
P.S. You need to clean your doormat.

I don't suppose you asked him why they didn't balance caravan wheels, did you?
It's interesting how fitters' attitudes to van wheels varies. The place I get our tyres done (I've had them swap van tyres from steelies to alloys and then replace those same tyres with the Uniroyals I bought online later) balanced them without a word..
Same here. Our local tyre company (Town Tyres) always balances the wheels without fail. They even did my towing trailer wheels when I changed the tyres recently. It's included in the price and not as an additional cost.

I took my spare off and put it in the car then took the Triton with me to the local garage and they took the van wheels off changed the tyres balanced the new tyres and refitted the wheels to the correct torque and later at home I refitted the spare underneath.
Cost a little more but saved me messing about with jacks and torque wrenches .............. worth a few quid not to have to play around with all that.

Well spotted re the mucky doormat for which I received a right bollocking from Mrs C. I was hoping that the long standing leak from the central heating system would wash it out. What fun sorting that out proved to be. Today's job is reinstating all the skirting boards and step that I had to rip out to get access to the badly soldered elbow.
Interesting comments about the security wheelnuts as the fitter made the same comment when I took our ancient Honda Jazz in for a puncture repair recently and couldn't find the adapter. "Be honest," he said, "who in their right mind would want to nick the wheels off that?" John's point about locking the spare wheel carrier also makes sense.
The fitter's remark about the Jazz reminded me of the time I went to pick up two bags of cement in a 2CV and the lad who carried them out to the car said, "There you are, sir. That's just doubled the value of your car." Cheeky sod.

At least after my efforts yesterday I now know just how difficult it is to get the spare wheel out of its cradle and what a swine of a job removing a caravan wheel can be even with a trolley jack in the safety of my own back garden. If nothing else it served to convince me that changing a wheel at the roadside is best left to specialists with all the correct kit and safety warning gear. Too may people have been killed on the hard shoulders of motorways and dual carriageways while carrying out repairs and I've no desire to add to the statistics.
