Our Puck will be coming out of the garage for the years first outing soon, having been rested all winter. What checks or inspections would you recommend before we set off?

We've booked a mobile service engineer to come and look over ours.

It's a running gear check. Wheels, brakes, towing gear and electrics. I suppose the gas should also be checked but we never use it.

Part of the standard service is a gas check, general condition leak test etc.

We took Betty to have the wheel bearings greased. It was a place that deals with farm machinery but they were thrilled to have her. They said that the first caravan they ever repaired was an Eriba and they thought she was so unusual that they would never see another one.....
Anyway, that all came about because Yann put the caravan up on the jack to check the wheels and felt movement.
I still have one window blind dangling at half mast. Does no-one know how to re-tension blinds?

If you look at the left-hand side of the blind's cassette you may (depending on the make) find adjustment slots on the end of each roller - the upper one for the flyscreen, the lower one for the blind. These can be adjusted clockwise to increase the tension - you may need a short 'stubby' screwdriver to fit where the adjusting end is close to an adjacent corner.
If there are no adjustment slots then your only option is to remove the blind and rewind by hand.

It might be worthwhile emphasising that the adjustment slots can only be rotated clockwise and in order not to overdo it any adjustment should only be done by turning one notch at a time which can be felt.
