I've taken Chris Dale's great design and slightly modified it to suit our own needs.
Firstly, the 20mm black conduit pipe x 2metres long is available at Screw Fix and is only £1.02 incl vat per length (page 350 in their current catalogue).
Because I didn't like the way the short lengths of pipe sit on the sloping front windows of our older van I decided to use one length of pipe to span both handles. Because our van only has two handles on the back window as well, I was able to do the same job there. It appears to work a treat.
As in Chris' design, slip the end with the whistle hole over the appropriate handle before pulling the slotted hole at the other end of the pipe over the second window handle. I then made the clip from an 80mm length of the same pipe to clip over the slot (or slide it over).

And before any of you start, I must revisit Screwfix to buy a small file to de-burr the ends of the pipes. While I'm there I must ask them where they got the glue they use to stick their bar code labels on their products. It's the bl***dy best glue I've even seen

It looks great Roger well done., however after my van locked itself with the keys inside I will be holding off for a while . In fact I have secreted my window opening device so that it's accessible for next time....
When I go on holiday I like to pop my top!

Hi, eckcan, just a few lines, I made up some window locks only slightly modifying mine, I am reasonably satisfied with the result. only needed one elasto plaster. My rear window has three catches so had to figure out how to get it to fit. I may spend another One pound and redo it just to get it just as I want it. It is always easier to alter things once the basic idea has been thought up, so many thanks for the idea.eckcan and does.

I have just bought a set of these Polyplastic Polylocks to replace my window catches. They are a direct replacement for the existing ones and take seconds to fit. Although not particularly cheap £9.50 each + VAT from https://www.caravanwindows.net/services/...ws/parts/locks/ . they are less fiddly than the Lock M out and about the same price (although granted they are not a visible deterrent).
The only question is... Why don't Hymer fit these as standard?

Drill small hole in window catch, insert small split pin,
Attach nylon thread to split pin hole, drill small hole in handle to keep split pin safe. By making the hole in the handle slightly bigger you could store the pin with the thread when you want to open the window.
Further idea for window security posted to years ago . This is my security method .
