Mice

As a newbie I’m just thinking about the best ways of keeping mice out of my pride & joy, various vents in the floor etc & I gather mice like plastic to chew on. I think I’m going to take the cushions/seats into the house. Any other ideas?

Until you have a problem might I suggest that you don't worry about looking for a solution? Our Familia is stored in a barn along with many other things which have been eaten by or little friends over the years but, during this time (and in fact during the entire 43 years of our caravan's life) no part of our caravan, it's contents or ancillaries has ever been eaten by mice.

Relax and enjoy!

Steve.

Our Triton is kept in our back garden and in eight years we've twice had mice nesting in the gas locker.

They chewed up a hitch lock cover for nesting material but that was the only damage.

Fingers crossed!

wonder if it is a good idea to leave some sacrificial nesting material in your gas locker to save your cover ?

Just to put you more on edge see this thread:- Mouse Attack

I love the story told by our Swedish friend Karisman.

I suppose the question is "How do they get in?". All our floor vents (including our gas locker) have plastic grills and the roof is very tightly shut although there is a small gap where the roof edging rubber is about 3" short at the back.

might be worth checking any holes in the floor where pipes pass through. There may be gaps around the pipe (with a mouse hotel invitation sign).
