Attaching number plate

Hi folks,

What is the best thing to use to fix a number plate to our Eriba. We used an adhesive strip recommended by our local car parts shop. The plate was stuck on using loads of the stuff and after a couple of months it just dropped off.

Thanks

The green double-sided foam number plate tape from Halfords. The business part is black - it's the stuff you peel off and chuck away which is green, and it works because it's thick.

I was a bit dubious at first, but had no real choice other than double-sided tape of one kind or another after a fixing bolt sheared off flush in the rear plate holder of our last car.

The Halfords stuff held front and rear plates on the car for five years without any sign of loosening, and I've used it on the van too.

Buying something from Halfords that both works and doesn't cost a fortune is unusual.

I have used the double sided tape made for number plates with no problems. Just make sure that both surfaces are clean. I used a bit of white spirits on a rag to ensure it can make a good purchase.
