Picking up our 430 from Automotive Leisure in May. Can anyone recommend a nice campsite nearby? Don't want to travel too far on the first day!

Lychet manor is ideal, they are great folk and are used ti eriba first timers, I was one who had problems unhitching!!

We are planning to use the Caravan Club site, Hunters Moon, which seems to be their nearest, if we ever get word from AL that the van has arrived! How long did it take to get yours from first ordering if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yes - we ordered our caravan from AL last October and were told it could be as late as August before we could pick it up. However, the latest news is it will be late May so judging by rambling robin's experience we are not doing too badly. I'm sure it will be worth the wait! When is the eta for yours Chris?

We ordered ours at the NEC show last October - to be fair we were told worst case scenario would be July, August, 2017 but being optimists at heart we were hoping for sooner!!

I'm local, and would advise that Lytchett Manor is only 7 miles from Automotive Leisure and a straight run, whereas Hunters Moon is just over 13 miles. Hunters Moon has Wareham Forest on the doorstep, but from my experience Lytchett is much friendlier. (I moved away from Dorset for a few years and camped at both when visiting on holiday).

It might be worth getting in touch with AL as we ordered ours at the NEC in October too and were told the same delivery as you. I emailed Cameron at AL for an update a couple of weeks back and he told me it was now looking like mid to end May. Had I not emailed I wouldn't have known so its worth a call.

Yes, I agree, I think a call to AL might be in order now. Was a bit concerned while driving past the agent at Tebay in Cumbria at the weekend to see that they appear to have loads of new ones of various models in stock.

Best of luck. At the show last October I got the feeling that there was a bit of friction between AL and the Tebay guys and that maybe Hymer/Eriba were playing them off against each other. Hope you get it soon!

A&L used to give a voucher for one night stay at lytchet when you purchased the Erica s from them, ask them about it.

Have been told by Brian at AL that our van is scheduled for manufacture end of May with potential delivery mid June so if that turns out to be the case we will be very happy with that!

I realise now how lucky we were. Went to AL last September and bought a new 430 then and there. Only had to wait about two weeks for them to service it and get it prepared for the road. Hymer had done a batch of these and I think AL had got a few in for the NEC show. Might have got it a bit cheaper if we'd waited, but we've had some lovely trips away in it.

I have just been back in touch with AL and delivery has slipped to mid June now. Guess we'll get it end June allowing for further delays. Fingers crossed!
