I find the hard plastic roof catches a bit of a pain.

So I took a tent peg puller, slipped a bit of plastic tube over the business and and came up with a simple tool you can use 2 handed to easily operate the catches.

Catches should not be that tight ............. make sure you are not trapping the canvas when closing them.
pull the top down with the door open to stop the displaced air pushing the canvas outwards.
Pull the top down at both ends before trying to close the catches.

It's just literally the strength of the new springs, I have a bit of a joint issue and so tend to notice these things perhaps more than many.

Good tip about the air pressure!

Just beware these catches are apparently easy to break and the replacement cost is horrendous.
