Handles in unusual place on 2007 Troll 540 GT

Hi, I have agreed to buy a 2007 Troll 540 GT this Saturday. I noticed the front grey front pull handles are between the window and the red band rather than on it. Has anyone ever come across this before? Just curious as I can't find images of any the same.

I saw this on the Facebook pages and queried the positioning at the time.
It is very strange as the handles have to cope with pushing and pulling the caravan. That is why they are always secured to the main structure of the frame. The positioning of those in the van for sale need to be checked that they are screwed into the steel framework correctly. I would also check for holes under the trim where they should have been to see why they are not there.
The handles themselves do not look like standard Eriba parts to me.

I also recall seeing this. It is not correct. Location and handle type both not original. I would suspect a damage repaired van. If it has not been pulled around by the handles already and no damage evident inside you should be OK. Handles could be removed and the holes could be plugged.

If it worries you then it may well worry others in the future when/if you come to re-sell.

That's interesting Zippy and obviously different vans (530 & 540).

I wonder if there was a small production of these at the same time as the vans underwent other changes to the rear light clusters and the pram like grab handle to the rear but they decided to revert to the standard front handles?

As at least one of them has been through Automotive Leisure's hands previously it may be worth asking the question of them?

This picture in the gallery shows there is steel framework behind the handles but you still have to wonder why they were attached there?
