First outing

On Wednesday we picked up our new (to us) Troll, a 2008 530GT. Having borrowed a tow car, ours is still in the bodyshop we travelled eastwards to Felixstowe, spotting no wise men.
We then had 3 nights at Polstead, a C & CC site, about 25 minutes from Felixstowe. As this was our first bit of towing since our accident in Germany I was surprised at how little Neil was bothered by it. I have to admit to doing a fair bit of whincing and using the non existent brake pedal in the passenger footwell, hopefully it will get easier.
Polstead is a lovely site, usual C & CC facilities but unusually they didn't care whether we pitched nose in or out and suggested as we were only little (their words, the Troll seems huge to us) that we pitch across, which we did. The site manager here, Karen, was a really lovely lady, always smiling. There were 2 other Eribas on site, a French blind Puck who we never spoke to, they were never around when we were and a 2014 white dimple finish 420. They knew of the Forum as they had met one of the admin at a cafe on the A17 at Gedney (Nev?).
We made the rear bed up and left it up using the dinette to eat inside or eating out mostly as the sun shone. The bed is a little firm for my liking and plans are afoot to improve it. The Troll is in lovely condition and we can't wait to get out and about with it. We will however have to wait until our car is fixed, the mover is good but it won't travel very far very quickly .
The Troll is now parked up on the drive, behind the gates, with the hitch poking through as the space is about 6 inches too short, need to get my brother to move his wobble box up a bit. It's so nice to have an Eriba to look at again although Neil is threatening to cover it up as soon as he's given it a quick clean.
If the car is fixed soon we may get away for a couple of days before the Stratford Meet, here's hoping.

Was that mincing, whining or wincing?

So glad you have got it sorted, Lets hope the body shop do a good job, if its a SAGA approved shop I think they give a 2 year guarantee on the work.
A year after our prang I still look behind when we come to a busy roundabout, silly eh.

Pleased to hear that you now have another van and already been out in it.....

Polstead C&CC Site is nice isn't it.....

Anne and I spent two weeks there a couple of weeks ago....
We were told the same as you ..".whatever way round you want to pitch it".

Polstead site is a franchised site and the owners are a lovely couple very friendly and helpful.... They used to be teachers until they achieved their ambition of running their own campsite.
We will certainly have a return visit there at some point....

Great to hear you two and look forward to the tale round campfire at Stratford.
I wanted to go to Polstead but erindors said Kelling somewhere so we did. Nice site too and the wardens said pitch sideways.
