Gas Locker Locks Wont Lock?

Please could anyone advice me on how the gas locker locks or should lock. I can not get them to lock at all one of them the barrel also pulls out. I have read the manual and have been trying a, close locker door and secure the bolt to hold the door shut (can do that no problem so far). B, push the handle forward hold and turn the key quarter of a turn clockwise turn the key back should be locked. The lock does not lock on either side of the gas locker door.

Any advice on my next move please!

Zitat
one of them the barrel also pulls out.

Steve this photo shows the inside detail of the lock if the barrel pulls out then the nut and securing retainer must be missing ..... look for them inside the locker.

Hiya Neville checked both internal nuts and retainers are in place doing my head in. I haven't had the gas locker locked for some time now thought it was time I investigated there has got to be a cure!

Ages ago, (in another place, in another time) I'm pretty sure that Pete posted something about having successfully repaired a faulty gas locker lock.

The above is the correct procedure I went out and tried it on mine ......... sounds like you might need some new locks Jandi would be favourite to get some.

I occasionally have to lock the handle before pushing it into place. That does the trick.

Ditto. One of mine needs a bit of a thump after having turned the key to lock it.

It's been like that for more than six years and as it still locks, I haven't bothered to do anything about it.

Likewise. A mate of mine who worked for a local company who sold and serviced chumpervans used this trick all the time, and passed it on to me yonks ago. Ever since I've always locked them first and then given them a gentle boff with the heel of my hand to engage them.

It's never failed to work.

The 'lock then thump' technique was the Eriba UK (Lechlade) method shown me years ago. It was a surprise at the time but has been the way I've done it on 3 successive Eribas since then.
