Bit and pieces

Just been sorting through a box of 'stuff', mostly now useless bits and pieces, but can anybody tell me what these are, please? Possibly spares for our previous Eriba?

There's nothing else in the photo to help get a sense of scale, but I might be tempted to guess they're someting to do with the slot in the middle of the awning rail to fit the soplair extension pole?

Cheers Mark

Yes they look like pieces that screw into the awning rail and the plastic bits are spacers to hold them far enough away for a short pole to fit in.

That better? I don't think we've ever had a Soplair awning. We had one of those pyramid things years ago. Certainly we've never had one that needed brackets screwing into the awning rail. The holes in the plastic things don't match up with those in the metal things. NB they don't necessarily belong together. I don't want to throw them out in case I find they are spares for something vital in the present Troll. I did find some useful bits in the odds and ends box, like a spare locker handle, which I have put away carefully.

They are definitely awning brackets and the spacers. However the spacers may be for the ring type brackets not the spade end ones which would explain the holes not matching.

You mean like this? In which case they must have come as extras with our two earlier Eribas. (There are six of them). Thanks.

The other bits were probably for a short apex pole like this vanderhorne one.

That's ezzackertly what it's for - there's a whole thread about them here.

Well there you go. I didn't realise they were for an awning so didn't look there. We must have been given these with the 'van when we bought our first Eriba - from Lechlade - and just tucked them away with other bits and bobs. Don't need them for our present awning which slides into the awning rail. Many thanks for looking.

Stop mucking about, guys. It's obvious that these are licorice novelties from a Christmas selection box.

My favourites were the pipe with the red crunchy bits on the end and the Catherine wheel with a torpedo in the middle but these 'awning brackets' look yummy to me and are bound to catch on.

Anyone who doesn't understand what the hell I am on about can take comfort from the fact that it is an age thing. Life was so much simpler in the 1950s.
