Could anyone help with gas locker layout/connections on a new import please?

We are newbies who took the plunge a few months ago and have a new Triton 420 arriving (via German dealer for much better discounts and service) in Feb 18. ! am just taking a rainy day break to look at what we'd need for the gas to connect to a UK calor propane cylinder.

-Does the Touring 2017+ gas layout have a bulkhead reg.?
-What connections and lengths of connections are needed to fit to a UK propane cylinder?
-Is it as simple as buying the Gaslow adaptor such as below or will longer pipes or other connectors be needed?

The German dealer should be able to provide a UK adaptor for UK Calor etc, screws direct into the fitting.
I assume you could buy at Calor UK also.
If you did run out of gas in Europe you could buy a small bottle and use the fitting it came with..
The regulator is same as uk 30 bar..

For the record all ERIBAS are imports, none are made in the UK

Your right, however just like a car Hymer specifically manufacture a UK spec van for the UK market and only supply them to an authorised Uk dealer, Grey imports can have implications for any subsequent warranty claims.

Thanks for all the help (with language precision :-) and gas). It's a german spec. /supplied van. Given above I think I am right in assuming the Gaslow adaptor (see link below) is all I should need?

I bought one of those when mine came over from Holland (2006 model) it worked fine until I needed a service then there was no-where by way of a test point to check for leaks. Your new one may be different, see my link above for what I did

When you say "via German dealer" is that German spec or UK spec? if German my first link above may be useful for changing other things plug sockets etc

Thanks, hob, your links will be really, really useful. It's German spec., so lights for sure will need swapping, will probably go with buying 2 pin plugs, and get the gaslow adaptor. I suspect there are test points but as the German dealer has agreed to include the first two services (good excuse to broaden our trips) so we will have lots of time to review gas testing but wanted to arrive for pick up with ready to go uk gas bottles. Thanks again...

Warranty claims can be made to any authorised Eriba network dealer i.e. AL Poole

You are correct, however only UK spec vans can have warranty work carried out by any Uk Hymer dealer, not grey imports. I would like to be proved wrong but you can see why they do it. It's to protect the UK dealerships, otherwise more folks would be hopping on a ferry to save money. If a claim is made it will be Hymer in Germany who will ultimately have to pay, the caravans serial number will have to be submitted and this will identify its origin of purchase. I did email Hymer with the query and I got the response below:

My Email:

Hi, please can you advise, I live in the UK, If I buy an Eriba touring in mainland Europe will I be able to have my van serviced and warranty work carried out by a UK Hymer dealer with a non UK specification van? Thanks.

Hymers Email reply

we refer to your request dated 23.02.2015 and thank you for purchasing a HYMER vehicle.

Regarding your request we have to tell you that is is very important that the vehicles have a UK specifications. Otherwise, the HYMER dealers in the UK are not allowed to make the checks which are needed for the vehicle.

So, unfortunately it is not possible to have the service work carried out in the UK.

We want to apologize for all inconvenience caused.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / yours sincerely / sincères salutations / distinti saluti

I would suggest in this instance UK spec vans are "grey imports"

It's a risk,I suppose the proof in the pudding is if A/L had carried out the work and Hymer paid up, I know for sure Lowdhams enforce Hymers stance...

I recently did some work on a 2017 Troll which was fitted with a Truma bulkhead regulator.

Zitat
-What connections and lengths of connections are needed to fit to a UK propane cylinder?

Assuming a Truma regulator and a UK butane cylinder (with POL valve), you will need a 450mm propane pigtail.

Zitat
-Is it as simple as buying the Gaslow adaptor such as below or will longer pipes or other connectors be needed?

These won't necessary with the correct pigtail.
