I used a Maybole roof cover for one year on our old Rapido caravan.
It was very poor and moved in high winds marking the windows. I would stick with the correct tailored covers from Specialised or Protec.

Just a thought. What about making sure the windows are grit free, then covering them with clingfilm before fitting a full cover? Can't say I have had any problems with scuffed windows though (and haven't tried using clingfilm).

I would advise against cling film. A chemical reaction between it and the window plastic has been mentioned in different forums.

Taking on board what Colin has to say, we had a strange reaction between our rear acrylic window and a knitted items while abroad this year.

The white knitted item was resting against the inside of the window for several hours and it has left an area of what looks like white threads on the window although they are not threads but marks.

Months later they are still there. We've tried to remove them but with no effect although we've not got really stuck into cleaning them off yet.

You also have to careful with window stickers they can also react with the acrylic windows.
