I see the AL website still features atrocious spelling errors, maybe even worse than a few years ago.

During a quick browse I've spotted 'avaliable', 'spair wheel', 'domestic' instead of Dometic, 'preperation'. 'satus' instead of status, 'availablilty' and 'Safegaurd'.

You'd think that in maintaining a website they'd use spellcheck and/or someone who could actually spell. People say 'it doesn't matter' but it creates an amateurish image in the mind of potential customers and a slight doubt that the same lack of care might extend to other parts of the business. If all the spelling is good, such doubts aren't even brought to mind.

I agree - doesn't give a good impression. They don't seem to have the same difficulty with figures!

Nice to see you're a Rod Stewart fan

I was at school and in the same school choir as Ronnie Wood, though he was a year above.

His first girlfriend was in my class and was killed in a car smash on the way to one of his very early gigs. A very shattering event for our class, indeed for the whole school.

A very talented man, not just musically, but also as an artist.

My secondary school was quite ahead of its time in many respects with my form being entered for an O Level in the Autumn of our 5th Form Year, effectively just a couple of months to study the syllabus before the exam. It had a 6th Form from the year before us, when most secondary pupils left at 15.

Ronnie came to our school because it had an excellent reputation in teaching art. He lived way out of the catchment area in West Drayton, about 7 miles south of the school. That was way back before heaps of parents depositing and collecting kids in cars. Bike, or London Transport Met line and bus were his options.

IIRC Ronnie left the school after 5th Form and went to Art College.

And the rest......

There's a feedback page on the website.

I'd be interested to know if you got a response were you to use that.

I know of someone - no names, no pack drill - who used it to mention this exact same issue to them a few months ago and heard nowt. Not a peep.

If the mail had been smartarsed, rude, sarcastic or in any way unpleasant then I'm not sure you'd expect a reply, but I know for a fact that it was written with complete equanimity in the most amenable and inoffensive terms possible.

Like I said; no names, no pack drill.

Did you try your usual style email as well?

Had it been me I'd have tried v. hard to get across that I was only trying to be helpful and that I thought they might be spoiling their ship for a ha'p'orth of tar by not having it all spot on.

However...

Like I said - no names, no pack drill.
