Dolly the Puck arrives in her new exclusive London pad

It may be wet, cold and nasty outside, but Dolly the puck is snug as a bug in her new London home. It did take the assistance of two passing good samaritans to help get her up the small slope in front of the garage.....perhaps a motor mover is the next purchase!

So where to for our first trip.......

Good purchase both. Lovely Puck once owned by Geoff and Jane (Vanman).

If you don't want to lose payload, an electric winch in the garage may be the way to go.

Unfortunately there is no electricity in the garage, but perhaps a manual one fixed to the floor. does anyone have experience of fitting something like that?

This is a hand winch that we carry everywhere, given to us by that nice Mr Frantone several years ago.

Perhaps something like this could be fixed to the back of the garage in some way? Winch.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

I believe Mr Frantone got it from a branch of The Private Shop

Yes, that might work. or perhaps one with a lever rather than a winder, anchored to a bolt fixed in the floor, otherwise if it was floor mounted you wouldn't be able to turn the handle, if you see what I mean.

No, we're talking "winch" not "wench".

The handle's on the tow ball side. Perhaps make the winch removable from its fixing so that you can carry it with you?

Ahh yes, I see what you mean. The clue was in the tow ball on the winch!!

I wonder where Mr Frantone found that one?

I bolted a short length of 4" x 3" angle iron to the floor of my garage, then mounted a winch similar to that in the photo onto the side of it. This meant the winch handle was in the horizontal plain and easy to use. This was to pull a 1300kg Troll up a slightly inclined gravel drive. Worked fine until I ripped the teeth of the winch.

That's what comes of trying to winch your mother in law Colin.
