I've just checked the car's weightplate and the figures on the HJ website are correct in that GTW is 3105kg and the GVW is 1905kg yielding a Towing Limit of 1200kg.

The kerbweight is listed as 1285kg which, if correct, means a Payload of 620kg. The trouble is, there is no detail as to how Skoda have calculated that kerbweight figure and recently they've been using figures that don't include the more normal 75kg for driver or a 90% full fuel tank. This makes a car look 100kg plus light but in reality it isn't. So until I know how the kerbweight was fixed the payload might be 620kg or it might be nearer 500kg.

How about a trip to the local weighbridge.

When we lived in NY I used to use the Harrogate Borough weighbridge but since moving to North Staffs I've not come across one.

Just checked Skoda brochure and the 1285kg kerbweight is without an allowance for driver. It says nothing about an allowance for fuel but as That's normally included with the driver allowance I'm assuming it's not included. So to get to the 'usual' kerbweight figure the 1285kg needs to have the nominal 75kg for driver and 42kg for 90% fuel added. That brings the kerbweight to 1402kg and the real payload to about 500kg.

If using wine boxes and not bottles, then that is about 500 litres of vino. That should keep you going for a weekend or two.

What do you call a Yeti with 500 litres of wine inside it.

A. A tanker
B. A yanker
C. Anything you like as it'll be out cold.

To give you an idea this is what one looks like, firstly empty, then with 150 litres and 3 cases of fix, and finally the evidence.

A couple of weekends light toping there. Hic!

The question is, did it travel well?

At present travelling home from the Lakes in the Yeti after an Hf weekend at Derwentbank. Mrs SDA ran her singing holiday and there were 20 or so on two different grades of guided walks, plus some self guided walkers. Excellent food, great socialising, beautifully positioned country house and garden, gin tasting one evening.
Have two beardies in their crate in the boot and back seats ful of luggage, music and African drum.
