Eriba Troll table with folding leg

I'm enquiring about finding a front dinette table that I could shorten the depth of for my Troll? I can guess these will be horrendously expensive new. We want to keep our original table but as we don't use the front bed I'd like to try and achieve more room to access the seat behind the bathroom if I can. Anyone know if a table is available?

Colin,
a route taken by several owners involves a trip to the local diy shed and finding a kitchen door that matches or contrasts with your interior colours. The trim on the edge of the original table can be bought from caravan dealers as it is not Hymer/Eriba specific. Folding legs are also available.
I made a table up some years ago that I use on the outside rail to support a table top fridge and table top freezer. I bought matt white formica and bonded to good quality wbp birch plywood. I varnished the edges and then routed the edge before fitting the table edge trim and an adapted IKEA table leg. The bottom of the leg was adapted by fitting in an under kitchen cupboard leg that could be screwed up and down for adjustment.

The 542 front dinette table is going to be the same as a 540 and 430, as the dinettes are the same and I believe only the gangway is narrower in the Triton. The 'normal' way of widening the access to the tucked away seat is to slide the table sideways over the other seat more. And if 6ft 2ins 17 stone me can get in there then anyone can.

There certainly isn't a smaller ready made table that'll fit there within the range and the only other option is to make something up as Colin suggests.

Oh and buying an Eriba one to cut down is frighteningly expensive and fraught with danger as edges and tops can crack, whilst the central hollow core is exposed and the whole thing can become a very expensive eyesore.

If my memory serves me well, B&Q used to do a range of cheap kitchen doors in 'rosewood' finish that matched the standard Eriba interior quite well.

The parts for making a bespoke table (alloy rail and adjustable leg) are all readily available.

They do a very fetching gloss purple one now or as many shades of grey as you can shake a stick at. Though maybe the latter isn't for a family forum like this

Ditto the B & Q kitchen door. The advantage to them is the door is already finished on the edges so it's an instant table. One thought occured to me after we did it, we could have used a larder door then we would have had a longer table although I realise that this is not what the OP is wanting.

We found the table on our 320 to big and heavy. Purchased 2 beech effect table tops plus 2 folding legs which are the same as the Eriba. AL sale the legs for over £50. We can now have both tables inside/ or in the awaning our one in one out. Very light and easy. Cost of leg £22.50 .Table top £37. Measurements 30in. x 17in. Yes rather smallest but work very well for us.Oh yes where from you may ask. Ha Ha. JUST KAMPER LTD. very helpful staff. Regards Dave

I don't really like the single leg tables that clip to the wall. They're of strictly limited utility as they can only go in two places, one in the van and one outside.

The freestanding table on the other hand is far more flexible in use as it can shift up and down the van and go anywhere in an awning and outside. It can also come in handy at home and in the garden. It's heavyish, but presumably heavyish in the tradition of German precision engineering. It certainly ain't going to fall apart like some, more lightweight tables, you can sit on it and it won't be blown over in a force 10 off Jutland. Ooh! Don't mention the war, even the first one.

Who says you are only allowed to use one type of table?

Our folding table travels in the car boot but, as often as not, we use the single leg table for dining and the other for food preparation and cooking.

The same geezer who told you that you couldn't wear your swimming trunks, presumably.

Now that's posh Eribaring, a three table man. What will they think of next?

Sorry, I'd not noticed you're a dinette short of a full set

Beat ya! We have 2 in the van, a big folding one outside and a nasty but very useful folding coffee table from decathlon.
