Milenco Security Hand Rail

I have one of these on my Triton, it was already fitted when I bought it, and I'd like to remove it. I don't like the rail, it reminds me of something very old people use to get out of the bath, but what can be done with the holes that are left after removal. Any advice would be appreciated.

Andy, you cannot bin the holes.
Colin
Why not Colin, do you develop a fondness for your holes?

Alan, how many holes, what size, and is there any damage or deformation around the holes.
Colin
Andy, I'm not talking to you anymore
Colin, I haven't removed the rail yet but I believe it is held on with eight M6 bolts.

Alan,
you are not going to be able to hide the holes so it will be a job of neatly filling them.
How about buying some stainless steel round head machine screws and filing the head down until the screwdriver recess has gone. You could them set these into the holes with some mastic.
Alternatively some aluminium snap, mushroom or flat head rivets could be neater. These are more difficult to come across and are still usually imperial in size so you would need to drill the holes out a little larger before bedding them in on mastic.
Best to avoid silicon as the acetic acid in it can react with the aluminium.

Colin, you've convinced me that it's too much trouble and not worth the effort.
Roger, you've convinced me that there is an alternative use for it.
Andy, you've convinced me that my decision not to talk to you ever ever again was correct.
