Dometic Fridge Latch - bad design

We have the standard RM5330 with the swively plastic latch.
In order to keep the door shut we have been advised this should be used all the times, not just when traveling.
Result is that it keeps coming unscrewed.

Took it apart - stupid design with central split collar around which pivots the body of the catch itself.
As the collar is split - by design - and the fixing screw is TAPERED the result is inevitable.

The central collar should have a stepped/shoulder screw that would lock the pivot in place, and the catch could spin freely for ever more.

It looks as though the screw is supposed to be locktighted as there is some blue on the thread, I'm tempted to use Gorilla Glue instead as that now holds most of the van together

Just purchased a bottle of industrial super glue and packs of screws prior to our Europe Tour
