Ours is called betty.....couldnt tell you why but I called the car Colin so we go away with them.

We were lying in bed one morning having picked up our Eriba a few days before. 'What shall we call it' I said. We'd had 3 motorhomes, the first was Justa because it was justa big enough (sic), then there was a Bessie the Bessecarr, and finally we had a Freddie John because the first letters on the number plate were FJ. So back to the question for which the iimmediate retort was 'TOW'. Now coming from a computer environment which is littered with acronyms I thought what does this mean,. 'Tent On Wheels' she said. Well, our van is rather basic inside. So now the computer environment kicked in again, after all we do have email, ecommerce, ebusiness etc etc. So I said lets call her 'eTOW'. 'OK, what does the 'e' stand for', 'expensive I said! So we call our Eriba eTOW.

I notice that quite a few of the named vans are female but somehow I feel that Trolls are male. Is it just me?

I think that Tritons should have male(ish) names. Ours is (by me anyway) Sparkle Motion. It helps if you have seen then film "Donnie Darko". There is a line in which one character says to another "sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion". This sums up my wifes attitude to upsizing from a Famila 320 to a Triton 430. I had to open the sliding cupboard door in the Familia (2012) washroom to accommodate my knees and I am only 5' 10" in proper sizing. So my commitment to Sparkle Motion has never been in doubt.

Our triton is deffo a girl. But I Agree, Tony. Trolls are boys.

Martha to rhyme with Arthur our Kia Soul Shaker who guides her! Also a fellow artists huge poodle is called Martha. I camped in their courtyard for 2 weeks during an exhibition and the dog became a companion.

I've never named a vehicle before and had been referring to my Troll as the Troll. However, my wife quickly fell in love with her and named her Poppy and now that has stuck. It's because the first place we ever stayed in her was called Poppyland in Norfolk and I quite like the reference to the pop top.

I still struggle to call her by her name though (unless I'm talking to my wife!).

Mine is called Tardis II..because it's not bigger on the inside..

Our Pan is called Ronnie after Purple Ronnie. Our Pan has the purple stripes!
