I'd love to pull my Eriba Pan with my Morris Minor but not possible

Cheers Ian

Ian what a stunning example of a Morris convertible. It is a shame it couldn’t pull your Pan, what a sight that would be.

I’ve worked out that a Puck and Matilda would be within acceptable limits as a Traveller has a kerbside weight of 16.5cwt/838kg. Hills are always an issue but that’s no different with or without extra behind...

I had a 1955 split screen saloon in the late 70s. One of the many things l liked about her was that she was older than me.

Moggies are to cars what Eribas are to caravans, I think. Functional, sturdy, simple. I used to say I could keep Felicity going so long as I had a piece of string, a Coke tin and a full bladder. ;).

We have a 1965 Morris Convertible which Mrs Nut would love to tow our van but as its a Troll 540 I dont think that's going to happen

Has your Traveller have the 1098cc engine?

Yes Matilda has a 1098cc engine. Over the years she has had quite a few mods done to her by previous owners so if I ever came across a larger engine I would consider the change. It's unlikely to happen but I would consider front disc brakes at some stage.

Matilda has pulled, or she will do in a couple of weeks...

We took a 3 1/2hr drive down to the nice people at Automotive Leisure in Bournemouth yesterday and ended up buying a 1997 Puck 120. Cameron and his team will now make sure it's all tip top for our collection on the 15th.

Exciting!

I'll show more when we collect it put until then here's part of the front end.

Well, going back to your first post, if your Moggy will pull that railway carriage - you should have no problem with a Puck. I would suggest that you make that the limit as the weight ratio is about right; before I bought my Puck (1973) I took my '68 saloon down to the sellers, found a hill to do a start on and sealed the deal. Since then it has done a good mileage behind the saloon, my Moggy van and my Vauxhall Combo Van, all with no hassle. I think I would be looking for a 1275 engine if I were going for owt bigger (heavier) than a Puck - the beauty of using a van or a traveller is that wind-resistance is minimised! Even ancient Pucks are not particularly cheap but look on the bright side - money in the bank is only earing 0.000001% interest and the interest in Eriba's is such that you will have people queueing up if you should ever decide to sell it!
Have fun! Dave

(and avoid the Rosedale area...)

I know exactly what that feels like. :). Congratulations, wishing you all many happy miles together.

Pulled the Puck up from AL at Bournemouth with my modern but gave Matilda a run around the block when we arrived home.

Now to get to know the wee thing.
