It is interesting though that there is a product out there favoured by Hymer and easier to use, than the Herzim product. It's probable that the EPDM (?) used by Hymer differs in consistency from the Herzim product as the profile itself can't be that different.
I remember many years ago when designing a push fit EPDM profile that we had hugely different results on the ease of fit dependant on formula used.

Just goes to show that even a simple screw cover requires quite a lot of thought.

I think this is the material to which Pete is referring. It measures 12mm wide when laid flat.

I bought it from AL when I couldn't obtain the bright cherry red I needed from other suppliers on line. It cost more but it was exactly what I needed so well worth it.

Inspired by buzzlightyears2 post #9 and having read many of the "Herzim Strip" related posts I'm still unsure if the outside edge strip is the same as the centre strip.

It doesn't seem to have the shallow groove near its exposed edge and I can't see how it's held in place.

Steve/Debbie,
is your trim damaged or just really tatty with age. If the later then meths will lift the polution deposits and 1:4 bleach:water should kill algae and most grime. Wipe it on, leave 24 hrs and repeat.
If you really want to go for it then toothpaste should finish of most stubborn marks that are left.

Thanks Colin. The previous owner kept the Puck under cover of a clear corrugated roofed porch. In effect a greenhouse!. Where the sun hit it the red as faded and the white, strangely, has turned blotchy pink. It's also seems to have gone sticky and shrunk out of the end covers . You can see it's curling up a bit as well. I'll give it a try though. My first picture is the best bit (the shade side )
